Birthday Discounts

This year I've decided to reward my cardmaking group members with a 15% discount valid against an order during their birthday month. Today I created these cards to contain their vouchers. I used the In Colour 2011-2013 colours with the SAB paper pack. The scallop punches layer beautifully together and pricking a hole around the edge of the larger one really shows the effect off.

Using the stamp from Happiest Birthday Wishes hostess set, you can punch out the middle and layer up. I have utilised both ways to make the most of the stamped image. I love the fact that the stamps and punches co-ordinate together this opens up loads of options for layering and giving dimension to your cards.

The itty bit flower punch was used to punch out some flowers in the paper and shaped and with the addition of a pearl in the centre was the perfect finish for one of the Pool party cards.

I hope the ladies enjoy their vouchers, and if you would like details of attending craft group please contact me

Technique Time

This card is made using the Resist Emboss Technique and masking technique.

I used the large medallion stamp and embossing with versamark and clear powder (remembering to heat from underneath to get a nice smooth surface). I masked off an area with post it notes (other makes are available lol) and embossed a suitable greeting. I then inked in the free area using one of my daubers. A small line around the design up to embossed area makes the inked area pop out.

This technique is ideal for any type of stamp dependant on your recipient, so is very versatile. A matching strip was coloured in the same way and punched using the scallop punch and added to the side of the design.

Hope you like it.... and let me know how you have used this technique?

Vintage Flower Tag

This tag is made with the Charming Stamp set from the current

mini catalogue. We made this at a recent workshop.

I used the Two Tags die to cut a tag from Very Vanilla cardstock, and stamped the wording in Sahara Sand ink and then daubed across the tag and around the edges to give it a distressed look.

Using the floral stamp from the set I stamped with Basic black ink using a first and second generation stamping and then stamped a greeting.

The flower was made by putting some black card through the crimper both ways and crunching it into a ball. This breaks the fibres and lets you split the card into two, this gives it an almost suede like texture. Punch this out with the Fancy Flower Punch and attach one of the Antique Brads.

Attach some ribbon across the front of the tag and add the flower with glue dots. You can scrunch up the flower to give it more depth, add some ribbon to the top and you're done.

Its an ideal tag to add to the front of a card or present.

Stampin Up Birthday Card

It was my friends birthday this week, this is the card I created for her.

I started off making a square card base with Concord Crush, and stamped the flourish from the Creative Elements stamp set in versamark and covered with clear embossing powder and heat set.

I then cut a smaller square in Whisper white and stamped and embossed the Sweet Floral stamp again with clear powder, and the same with the greeting which is from the hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes. I daubed Wisteria Wonder ink on the remainder of the white card which gave colour to the background. I then punched a small border to go on the right hand edge of the white/purple panel with the scallop edge border punch and attached underneath.

I wrapped a length of the Organza ribbon around the panel before attaching it with dimensionals onto the front of the card. I tied a bow and attached with glue dots.

Bloghop for the New Mini Catalogue

Hi ya, and a warm welcome to my blog. If you're following the ILWS blog hop then you will have come from the lovely Beckie http://www.bextiesandstickytape.blogspot.com/ , and here is my project;

I felt that the flower stamp in the Marry Me set had an art deco style to it, which gave the inspiration for the card. I coloured the stamp in with markers and used to decorate the white panel using first and second generation stamping to give dimension. The black background was stamped with versamark using the tops of the flowers and embossed with clear powder and I daubed around the white panel with rich razzleberry ink to soften the edges. I used a torn strip (still find it so hard to tear such lovely new paper!!) to accent the side of the card.

Cardstock - basic black, rich razzleberry and whisper white

Ink - basic black and versamark

Markers - Rich razzleberry and always artichoke

DSP - Pocket full of posies

Stamp sets - Marry me and Create a cupcake

Accessories - Sponge daubers, snail, grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals and clear embossing powder.

I hope you enjoyed my project (apologies for the rubbish photo!) and the blog hop continues with the lovely Julie http://www.the-crafty-bug.blogspot.com/

Convention 2011 - Disneyland Paris

Just to update you on my first convention trip.

Demonstrators have the chance once a year to attend convention, its usually held in one of the 3 European countries : France, England or Germany.

Its consists of inspirational workshops, make and takes, updates on new products and forthcoming special offers. It also includes an awards dinner.

The inspiration boards are really something with a whole wealth of ideas using different products. I think each and every one of us came away inspired.

Of course we also got the chance to nip into Paris to see the Eiffel Tower all lit up, and a day in the park itself which was looking extremely christmassy - very pretty.

If you fancy joining me in going to Convention in Germany next year why not have a chat to me about the other benefits of becoming a demonstrator or check out the info my Join My Team page on this blog.

I'll be back soon with some piccys of the swaps I received, alot of very talented ladies out there.
