Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog, you will have come from Erika's Blog .......  blog and I hope you are enjoyed her project and all the inspiration.

My offering is an easel card made using the scallop circle and circle dies.  The sentiments are from Remembering  your birthday, the leaves from Summer Silhouettes and the flower from Flower Shop.

I used a palate of crumb cake, very vanilla, pear pizzazz, perfect plum and blushing bride.

The stamping for the leaves was 2nd generation to give a softer effect, the flowers were made by stamping with versamark onto vellum and using white embossing powder. Once heated they were coloured on the back using ink and a blender pen, again this gave the softer effect.

Giggle Greetings

Needed to make a cat mad friend a get well card, so knew this stamp set would be perfect although needed to just use the pussy cat image.  I used one in the new in colours for this year Baked Brown Sugar ink along with the co-ordinating paper stack.  Gorgeous Grunge gave me the subtle background and the sentiment is from Hopeful  Thoughts.

Horse Frontier

I needed to make a birthday card for my horse mad daughter, so I knew exactly which stamp set I needed.  Using the polka dot embossing folder to give texture to the background stamped with the horse shoe and the oval framelets to cut-out the horse topper.  The chocolate chip theme gave a perfect backdrop with papers and ribbon to match (Stampin Up are so good at that lol).

Just a few days left to get your hands on those retiring goodies, and that fabby new catalogue.  Let meknow if  you would like to place an order or get a copy of the catalogue (available 2nd July).

Not long now.......

The end of this month sees the retiring lists being published in readiness for the new catalogue.

If you would like a copy of the lists please let me know, but be warned items disappear very quickly !!!!!

With the new catalogue we are getting a colour refresh, some colours are disappearing and others coming back but there are some new lovely colours too  :-)

Charity Crafting Event....

Come and join us for some crafty fun on Saturday 15th June for a crafty make and take in aid of Rowcroft Hospice.

We will make 5 cards, there will be light refreshments available and a super raffle with lots of crafty prizes from local craft shops.

The setting is the beautiful Rainbow House at the Hospice.

Project Nights

Project nights are based on particular techniques or themed make and take events.

Our next project night is based on men's cards, and is on Thurs 23rd May.  We will make 6 cards on a make and take basis. The cost is £10. There is a raffle and light refreshments.

Booking for this night closes on Friday 17th May, places are limited so please book early :-)

This picture is of the techniques book we made at one of our previous project nights :getting to grips with rubber stamping. On this night we explored use and care of stamps, and made pages using different techniques.

Blast Off ........

This week at a party I was asked to make a project for a children's card.

I was torn between two stamp sets : blast off or dinoroar

This is what I came up with, I used a card base of Pacific Point, and created a background
Using the outer space roller.

I'm hosting a party myself next Thursday 28th February, so you fancy  attending and checking out Stampin' Up's great product, then let me know and i'll make sure you have a project pack ready and waiting......

Elements of Style

Another card playing with the stamp set Elements of Style. Its a beautiful set and the flowers are just crying out for glitter lol

I also used the Comfort Cafe papers again (need to use up those offcuts!) Soft Suede and Very Vanilla card and ink, flowers : Regal Rose and Old Olive.  Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and the Stripes embossing folder.

With Love......

Today's card originated from a sketch.  Since being ill I seem to have lost my crafting mojo and using a sketch seemed a good way to get me started.

It uses a palette of soft suede and very vanilla, and a piece of DSP from comfort cafe.  By using texture and layers you can create the perfect card recipe = BLT.

Background, layers and texture.

The flowers were coloured using markers gumball green and primrose petals.  The stamps are from Field Flowers and Love and Sympathy.

Here's a card we made last night.  We used crumb cake, pool party, soft suede and white.  We brayed pool party ink onto the Brocade embossing folder, this technique can be used in 2 ways to get either the background covered or the detail.

The flowers are taken from the Blooming Marvelous stamp set which is one of the freebies available during Sale-a-bration.
